Ugandan Bus - Food Vendors

Riding the bus in Uganda is an adventure. My friend and I took a bus across the country from Kampala to Mgahinga, 8 hours. The driver rarely stopped for anything, including an unfortunate chicken. Our only stops were more like “pauses” in villages large enough that people would rush to shove food and drinks through the windows to make some money. Suspicious charred meat on sticks and water in ziplock baggies. We tried to abstain, since there was no where for women to go to the bathroom without the whole bus watching. Dirt roads, mountain passes with no guardrails. And people packed in 4-5 on a seat built for 2. Probably the most dangerous thing I’ve ever done.
